What's the most important mindset for learning language?

  1. Be informed about the benefits like boosting your confidence, gaining better skills, becoming more independent, etc.
  2. Learn from the experts. Think like a baby, so it is easy for you to mimic and copy.
  3. Don’t be afraid to make any mistakes.  When you have a chance, speak up and speak out.
  4. Don’t try to ask questions while you first start learning, listening, and conversing. Every question can be a stop sign because language-learning is different from other subjects such as math and physics.

What is the number one mistake that causes people to give up learning foreign languages?

The number one mistake is not learning step by step. For example, the traditional approach starts from reading, grammar, then writing. This is not how we naturally learn languages. Please remember-- if you cannot crawl, how can you walk?

What is the most natural, effective approach to learning a language?

Sing2learn! Using melody and music, our approach starts from listening, babbling, mimicking, and speaking; this is the same way you learned your mother language, step by step.

What are the major problems of learning foreign languages today?

1. not fun
2. not effective
3. not step by step, but starting from reading, writing and grammar
4. not according to a student’s knowledge level
5. not enough two-way communication
6. not accessible anywhere, anytime (only learning in class)

What is the most practical approach to learning a language?
  • The Most Practical Approach = Sing2Learn + The Most Natural Approach
The Sing2Learn approach: Learn languages by singing, combining patterns, repetitions, pictures, stories, and DVD animations. The most effective, natural approach is a step-by-step approach, starting with listening, mimicking, and speaking.
Learning a language is just like learning how to swim. Imagine you hire the best Olympic swimmer to teach your kids, but they don’t have a swimming pool.  They pass all the exams, so one day you decide to take them to go swim. You go buy some snacks, but, when you come back, what happened to your kids? All your kids will have drowned because they never applied what they learned to real life.
So, to know, to understand or even to experience a second language is important, but to know how to apply is the key to success.

Why does Sing2Learn have the most effective evaluation tools?

Evaluation of student learning can often be a challenge. To encourage others to enforce standards present in their educational community, Sing2Learn has made an effort to be flexible in areas that are still being debated, giving the teacher the chance and availability to use our product as a learning tool to supplement their own preferred teaching styles.

How does S2L quantify the process of language learning? Simple!

We have several assessment tools to gauge a student’s progress (270 topics for each language). We have designated our assessments in the following categories: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

 A. Listening and Speaking:

Can the student sing the entire song? With or without the lyrics? Can the student repeat the song, in natural speech? An outstanding student would replace words of similar structures (say a noun for another noun) and usurp the song as his or her own story to tell. Pronunciation is a standard accounted for in this category.

 B. Reading:

We assess a student’s reading ability through five standards of reading comprehension: Reading, Understanding, Comprehending, Analyzing, and Applying.

 C. Writing:

We have separated our writing assessment into four standards: Topic, Grammar, Writing style, and Punctuation.

What are the solutions for today's language-learning problems?

Sing2Learn can solve all the problems in learning a foreign language today:
1. Fun! Who doesn’t like to sing or see interesting animations?
2. Effective! When singing, you have motivation. If you have motivation, then learning will be effective.
3. Step by step, Sing2learn uses a step-by-step approach.
The traditional approach starts from reading, grammar, and writing.
Our approach starts from listening, mimicking, and speaking;
this is the key to building your learning language confidence.
This is the same way you learned your native language.
Please remember-- if you cannot crawl, how can you walk?

4. Our levels go by knowledge level, not age.
We have a complete product line with eight knowledge levels covering from toddler to adult (3 beginner, 3 intermediate, and 2 advanced).
Every language has 270 songs.
With this foundation, we begin evaluating listening, speaking, reading, and writing; this will provide a very accurate assessment tool for any level.

5. Our product provides perfect two-way communication.
A.Each DVD animation contain hundreds and thousands of pictures with very creative and positive ideas; this should spark the teacher’s motivation and enthusiasm, as well as capture students’attention and inspiration. At any time, the teacher can pause and use the animation frame to ask questions to tell the story, to have activities, or create synergistic discussions.

 B. Our Teacher’s Manual and Teacher’s Manual CD provide lots of Q&A as reference for native speakers and are also specifically designed for the non-native-speaking teacher to use in class or anywhere for Q&A activities.

6. Our product package weighs less than one pound and was designed to be portable and convenient, so you can learn in the car with our CD, or at home with our DVD, or anywhere on vacation with our portable product.

Why are our teacher's manual and CD the best?

Teachers already know how to teach, right? Of course! Still, Sing2Learn is your friend! We want to make language learning something fun and effective. Our team knows that it can sometimes be a challenge for a teacher’s confidence to teach a second language; as a result, Sing2Learn has created the Teacher’s Manual CD! This CD is a unique addition to our product line, specifically designed for the non-native-speaking teacher to use!
Sing2Learn knows everyone can be successful when effective instruction and a learner’s best effort are combined. The Sing2Learn team has created Q and A style questions to give more resources to the teacher who may feel less confident in their instruction due to their own pronunciation concerns and/or the fear that their own issues may affect student learning. Pronunciation is a skill that takes much refinement since accurate pronunciation is the spine of clear communication. With our Teacher’s Manual CD, second language teachers can now enjoy this additional resource to master all their skills.
